You’ve heard the stories about people finding relief and healing from cannabis. But does it really work – and if so, how?

The key to cannabis working can be found in chemical compounds naturally produced in the plant that have a human-based counterpart. Phytocannabinoids – or cannabinoids for short – are abundant in the cannabis plant and each of the ones identified so far are found to affect our bodies and brains in ways that promote health and healing.

THC, CBD, CBN, THCv, CBG – it all seems like alphabet soup until you understand how compounds in the cannabis plant bind to or affect receptors in our bodies and brains that in turn produce effects from reducing inflammation, reducing anxiety, reducing seizures, potentially reducing tumors, and working like an antiviral or antibacterial.

This month, our Featured Topic will be explain why cannabis works for women – for anyone, really – and focuses on cannabinoids – what they are, what they do, and how to find the right products to access them.

Our goal at Ellementa is to empower you with better information about cannabis for health and wellness. We connect you with trusted cannabis experts and brands producing quality products that believe, like we do, in education first. What’s the point of buying a product if you don’t understand how it works or even how to use it?

Where we’ll be this month

We hold monthly Gatherings in cities across North America (and this month: Jamaica!) to bring women together to get answers to questions and clear up any confusion about the therapeutic value of cannabis. Here’s where we’ll be. Note that not every Gathering covers the monthly Featured Topic, but you are welcome to bring all of your questions to any Gathering to get the answers you need.
